January 2008

Eight of Wayne Leechford's saxophone and clarinet students were awarded chairs in the 2008 Central District All-District Competition. Middle school students won 1st chair clarinet and 1st chair baritone saxophone (symphonic band) and 1st chair bass clarinet (concert band). High school students won 1st chair alto saxophone and 1st chair baritone saxophone (9-10 wind ensemble) and 1st and 2nd chair alto saxophone and 1st chair tenor saxophone (9-12 symphonic band). The students were selected based on their audition performances. Congratulations!!!

November 2007

Five of Wayne Leechford's saxophone and clarinet students were selected to participate in the 2007 Wake County All-County Band including 1st chair alto saxophone. The students were selected based on their audition performance.

August 2007

EbzB Productions has contracted Wayne to play reeds for War Bonds: The Songs and Letters of World War II. Touring dates in October and November include shows in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Indiana, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

June 2007

Children of the Horn was accepted for the 2008-2010 edition of the North Carolina Arts Council Touring Artists Directory. The directory is a selected listing of over 150 North Carolina literary, performing, and visual artists and arts groups who are available to perform or share their art throughout the state.

March 2007

Two of Wayne Leechford's saxophone and clarinet students were selected to participate in the 2007 North Carolina All-State Band. The students were selected based on their audition performance.

November 2006

The new CD from Children of the Horn is available now as a digital download from Digstation.

September 2006

Children of the Horn has finished recording for their debut CD. They will be the Band of the Month for the Independent Weekly in November. Their CD release party is scheduled for November 17 at Raleigh Music Hall. The CD features Wayne playing baritone sax and bass clarinet.
